Hawaii's Plantation Village

The Hawaii's Plantation Village in the historic Waipahu is an outdoor museum that showcases the lifestyles and experience of Hawaii's plantation workers.  Furnished homes and other community structures display and interpret the history of Hawaii's multi-ethnic heritage.  Asian art and architecture, along with awesome antiques and relics, are among the main features of the Village.

Third Quarter
He`eia Fishpond

The He'eia Fishpond is an experience that takes place in a Hawaiian traditional loko i'a.  Students will have an opportunity to participate in service-learning projects aimed at sharing the ways our Hawaiian ancestors cared for this special place.  During the day the students will learn of the storied landscape surrounding the fishpond in mo'olelo (stories) about the He'eia ahupua'a and Ko'olaupoko and become a part of this ancient tradition that has been established for more than 600 years. It is an eco-cultural learning experience that they will not forget.

Fourth Quarter
Ka'ala Farms

Ka'ala Farms sit in the shelter of beautiful Mount Ka'ala on the Waianae Coast.  A living Hawaiian cultural learning center and science center, Ka'ala offers learning opportunities to students across the island.  While visiting Ka'ala Farms students will have the opportunity for service learning by working in the lo'i kalo, participating in a kapa demonstration, and learning about the ahupua'a.
